POLICE CORRELATE INCREASED ROAD ACCIDENTS IN LETLHAKANE TO THE LIFTING OF ALCOHOL BAN
Letlhakane Police say they have been registering increased numbers of road accident cases since the lifting of the ban on alcohol sales early this month.
They highlighted that they have registered 7 car accidents over the weekend in which 5 people were charged with drinking and driving with an incident where 1 person lost his life.
In an interview with Echo Newspaper recently, Letlhakane Police Station Commander Superintendent, Michael Maphephu said they have noticed that alcohol contributes to these accidents.
He further urged the public to comply with covid-19 protocols that include the #DinweleDladleng and to refrain from drinking and driving.
