OMANG OFFICE SET TO LAUNCH NEW BOOKING SYSTEM TO CURB LONG QUEUES
The Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Annah Mokgethi, has revealed that her ministry is set to introduce a new Omang or national identity card booking system.
The system seeks to manage the numbers of customers at the Department of National Registration for Identity cards and should be in place by next week.
In an interview with Echo newspaper yesterday, minister Mokgethi highlighted that the system was done in response to concerns that large numbers of people who queue at these offices could potentially spread COVID-19.
The services of Omang applications, renewals and replacement cards have been suspended since late March this year following the outbreak of the Corona Virus Pandemic.
