NEW MYSTERIOUS ELEPHANT CARCASES EMERGE AS GOVERNMENT ISSUES HUNTING RIGHTS
More mysterious elephant deaths have come to light in the Okavango area with 39 new carcasses found in the Mombo area in the Moremi game reserve from January this year to date.
The Ministry of environment in a statement yesterday highlighted that investigations are underway to establish the cause of death.
Aerial and field investigations by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks ruled out anthrax or bacterial infection as a cause of death. The statement also noted that there was no another animal mortality.
