MINISTRY OF HEALTH PARTNERS WITH POLICE TO SECURE 24HR HEALTH FACILITIES WITH CCTV CAMERAS
The ministry of health and wellness has partnered with the Botswana Police Service to install CCTV cameras in 24-hour health facilities to beef up the available security.
Minister Dr Edwin Dikoloti told Parliament yesterday that the project is aimed at achieving high levels of safety and security for health workers in the wake of abuse and attacks on them.
He said the project is expected to commence during the current financial year as part of the Botswana Police Safer City Project.
Its implementation will be done in a phased approach, starting with the Princess Marina and Nyangabgwe Referral hospitals as phase 1.
The minister further highlighted that the CCTV cameras will not be installed inside consultation rooms for privacy and confidentiality reasons.
