LEA RESTRUCTURING CUTS WORKFORCE BY HALF
Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Peggy Serame told Parliament yesterday, that the Local Enterprise Authority, LEA, between 2017 and 2019 saw the organization reducing the number of its employees by half and also reduced rental bills by half due to a restructuring process.
The minister revealed that LEA had 357 employees at its establishment and 323 at the time of the restructuring.
She said the authority remained with 170 employees after the restructuring.
Serame said the restructuring exercise was necessitated by an organization-wide situation analysis that was commissioned in October 2017 which informed LEA’s transformation into a high-performing Centre of excellence for entrepreneurship.
